Eligibility Criteria for the High Potential Individual Visa 

To be eligible for the High Potential Individual Visa, applicants must meet the following criteria:

•  Have been awarded a qualification by an eligible university within the last 5 years.
•  The qualification must be at the same level as a UK bachelor’s degree, UK postgraduate degree, UK PhD, or doctorate, and applicants must apply to Ecctis (formerly UK NARIC) to check their qualification is valid and at the right level. 
•  Applicants must also have graduated from a university ranked as top-rated as of their graduation year.
• Meet with the English language requirements.
• Meet with the maintenance requirements of holding £1,270 for 28 days unless you’ve been in the UK with a valid visa for at least 12 months.

The Advantages of the High Potential Individual Visa 

This visa category does not require the individual in question to be sponsored, therefore affording the applicant flexibility to work for whomever they choose. It is also a more cost-effective option than the Global Talent Visa and is also a relatively straightforward process and therefore leads to quicker entry to the UK. 

Settlement Under the High Potential Individual Visa 

The High Potential Individual Visa does not lead directly to settlement in the UK.  However, before your leave expires, you may be able to apply from within the UK to switch to another immigration route such as the Skilled Worker Visa or the Global Talent Visa.
